Squirt and the App

May 22, 2018

Today’s tattoo took almost 3 hours.  For the size it doesn’t seem like it should take that long, but with my new style and trying to capture a decent amount of detail, there’s no way to avoid it. You can’t rush the needles. I was doing great for the first two hours, but then I got around to the backside of the arm where the needles struggle and I started feeling ready for the session to be over. I would have liked to do some contour lining and background fill, but that can wait for another day.  I used the SecondSkin bandage and gave the client a spare.

The remainder of my day and night consisted of me writing code.  I’ve made some huge strides on the new Tattoo App. I created buttons to select the tattoo needle brushes and all the corresponding brushes. I developed a method to simulate corner shading. And I made the app icon.  It may not seem like much but it’s been a lot of trial-and-error to get things working.  It’s 1:40am and I finally reached a stopping point.
